Hi there!
I am writing this blog because I have gotten lots of inspiration from other decorating blogs, and to document the renovation and decoration of our first home. We are on a very tiny budget so I love to find creative ways to make our house my dream home. I want to thank Rie from Home and Harmony for posting pictures of my living room on her beautiful blog:
For my first post I thought I would show you a little corner of our home. This is in our guest bedroom, which is really only big enough for a bed but I managed to squeeze in a dresser, night table, and sometimes a chair.
The antique dresser is from Kijiji. It was $15 and came with the chair, which was $5. Believe me, I don't find deals like this everyday, but every once and awhile they come around. When I arrived to pick them up, the lady had decided she wasn't charging enough since she had so much interest. She was going to ask for more, but when she saw me 9 months pregnant I think she felt a little sorry for me and gave them to me for $20. My sweet husband painted them since I was pregnant!
The rug is from White Flower Farmhouse http://www.whiteflowerfarmhouse.com/
and was a Christmas gift from my husband. They have such nice items and they ship to Canada!
The white box is made of barnboard leftover from our kitchen renovation (more on that soon!). The mason jars are filled with $5 carnations from the grocery store - I got nine tiny boquets out of the bunch.
Finally, the pitcher is from Ikea. I love the real vintage ones but have never seen one I could afford. I made the little mirror, it is actually the Ikea Malma mirror and I added an applique from Home Depot and used dollar store craft paint. I will post about the whole room soon!
Thank you for reading this!
